// Remote People & Ed Maddams 'For The Night EP - Release: 25/04/11 //

remote-people-ed-madams-deep-sessionA recent press release for Remote People stated that their music would appeal to fans of Deep Edition Recordings.  Well just five weeks later ... ...the stars have mysteriously aligned as Remote People and Ed Maddams get together for the five track ‘For The Night EP’ onMartijn’s imprint.  Still riding high off the back of their 10/10 iDJ ‘Top Tune’ review, the County Durham label show once again their unfaltering talent for spotting up and coming British talent.  Remote People and Ed Maddams have so far impressed with EPs on their own Remote Records and this is another fine example of theirslower tempo house music – deep, warm, disco-influenced, full-sounding and bass heavy, with a heavy nod to the past.

Mike Hartley and Wil Maddams have produced and DJ'd under theRemote People moniker since a trip to Ibiza left the pair obsessed with the slower end of techno. Their partnership and musical adventures with Wil's brother and fellow Remote Records owner Ed Maddams goes back further to the days when the trio mixed drum and bass tunes before Ed followed a French electro sound while the duo gravitated towards deeper house and disco.  Now back together for this release on Deep Edition, the separate influences can been heard on their respective tracks, but they still gel together side by side as one EP.

The Remote Records imprint has provided the perfect avenue for their latest sounds and has quickly captured the attention of DJs and record buyers alike. All three are based in Cambridge and can be found playing DJ sets at Egg and Ministry of Sound in London, as well as on their podcast. 2011 is shaping up to be a big year for the fellas.

Deep Edition Recordings was founded by Martyn ‘Martijn’ Hodgson to showcase some of the best up and coming producers the deep house scene has to offer. To date the label has featured releases from Midnight Audio, Persian, Marc Vexar, RJ Fletcher and Jesus Pablo & Di Riviera amongst others, with a heavy focus on UK based producers and the North of England in particular. Despite having no A-list superstars on their roster, Deep Edition has been an instant success – a true testament to the quality of the label’s musical output.
