This release is supported by an in depth 58 minute audio and written/published interview between Alex Rose (Founder of Behind the Groove) and Victor Simonelli, which charts all of Victor’s history from early childhood musical influences, through Victor’s formative years becoming involced with music, to his internship at Arthur Baker’s Shakedown Studios and beyond. The interview discusses each and every track over both Vol 1 & 2 of the releases discussing the sorties behind all of these seminal classics.
A WORD FROM THE MAN BEHiND THE PROJECT…
Alex Rose (BTG Founder): Through the early 90’s I spent a great deal of time in record shops, tracking down fresh house music jams from names like N.Y Finest, Cloud 9, Solution, Groove Committee, T.M.V.S, Sixth Sense, and so the list goes on. And as I perused the sleeve notes and labels on these future underground classics, I came to realise that time after time after time, behind all of these different AKA’s and aliases there was one constant that prevailed… and that constant was the name Victor Simolnelli… , So what better way to pay homage the Victor and his contributions to the world of house music than to work with the great man to put out a project celebrating some of his finest rare early releases!
