// Red Box Lounge 'Sweet Love' - So Sound Recordings //

The latest signing to Miami label So Sound Recordings is the Spanish duo of Marcos Rodriguez and Estela Martin, collectively known as Red Box Lounge.  Calling themselves a “deep house project for those who love elegant music”, their style, and Estela’s Roisin Murphy-esque vocals, should appeal to lovers of soulful and vocal house.  Man of the moment Toomy Disco takes a break from promoting his debut album for a typically 80’s influenced cosmic-disco workout and rising star Edmund shows why his deep grooves are getting people talking. Both Marcos Rodriguez and Estela Martin are successful solo artists – Rodriguez having appeared on more than 75 different releases for a raft of labels including Blanco Y Negro, We Love Asere and Vidisco, while Martin has collaborated as a songwriter/vocalist with Elijah, Funkemotion and Dummie Project.  While this is not her first collaboration with Rodriguez, it is the pair’s debut work under the Red Box Lounge name.

Toomy Disco is currently one of So Sound’s hottest acts with two recent EPs and his debut album ‘Bedroom Tricks’ gaining him widespread recognition.  DJs and producers including Annie Mac, Tensnake, M.A.N.D.Y., Dubfire, Roberto Rodriguez, Dana Bergquist and Nacho Marco have shown their support, while iDJ’s Russell Deeks has described Toomy’s sound as “the kind of disco that could never have happened if deep house hadn’t” and “a lo-slung slo-mo funker that oozes class.” Edmund, from San Sebastian in Spain, has been prolific over the past 3 years with more than 50 productions or remixes on some of the world’s finest underground house labels such as Conya, Grouper, Onethirty and Seamless.  His own Connected Musik was also responsible for much of his earlier output and his radio show of the same name remains popular. Formed in 2002, So Sound Recordings is based in Miami and run by Jazzy Eyewear. The label has released music by artists including Inland Knights, Toka Project, Zoo Brazil, Manuel Tur, Jay West and Tovar amongst others. Recent releases include Pablo Varela’s ‘Bomba’, Mr. Morning’s ‘Where’s The Love’ and Jazzy Eyewear’s own ‘The Wait/Fantasy Island’.
